Are you looking for special programs or initiatives to help with employment in Indianapolis, Indiana? If so, you're in luck! There are a number of resources available to assist individuals and families facing complex and varied challenges related to poverty progress towards lasting economic self-sufficiency. The Next Level Jobs Workforce Ready Scholarship is one such program. It pays for tuition and mandatory fees for eligible high-value certificate programs at Ivy Tech. This transition program is available to students with disabilities aged 14 to 22 in the Indianapolis area, and each participant must have an IEP or 504 plan with the expectation of receiving a certificate of completion or a high school diploma.

The Lilly Foundation has also launched an initiative called Enhancing Opportunity in Indianapolis. This initiative is designed to help individuals and families facing complex and varied challenges related to poverty progress towards lasting economic self-sufficiency. The Foundation expressed special interest in proposals that would help increase economic opportunities for black and Latino residents, who are disproportionately affected by poverty, and improve the prosperity of people facing additional challenges, including, but not limited to, people with disabilities, young people who age outside of foster care, the homeless, and immigrants who face language and other barriers. Indy Legal Aid has partnered with several organizations in Indianapolis to provide services for the BY Plus program. This new program for high school students with disabilities is a comprehensive, one-semester, work-based, community-based learning program designed to provide high school students with disabilities the opportunity to access meaningful work and career planning activities to facilitate the smooth transition from high school to post-secondary employment or training. Next Level Jobs provides free training to Ohio residents and reimburses Indiana employers for training their employees in high-demand fields.

The employer training grant reimburses employers who train, hire and retain new or current workers to fill high-demand positions in recognized fields of employment.
